Tour footage, music videos and a live show from the world's biggest screamo band. |

Reviewed by Jonathan Langley Most people put under the constant scrutiny of a team of cameramen are less than interesting. This principle sadly holds true for Florida screamo band Underoath. Their latest DVD release, '777', is not a documentary, it's not a series of interviews, it's not even a collection of gifted goof-offs. It is primarily clips of the band in tour buses, hotel rooms, parking lots and sound-checks and, artistically, the most that can be said for it is that it captures perfectly the tedium of 90% of a rock tour. Underoath are a hugely talented band, but music is where they shine, which is why this DVD is saved by footage of an entire performance (a secret MySpace show in the US). What they lack in pitch-perfection or tightness they more than make up for in something that is spoken about more often than it actually exists: passion. And these boys have it. Unsurprisingly, material from 2004's 'They're Only Chasing Safety' is the highlight of the show, but three newish music videos from the latest album, 'Define The Great Line', will provide extra interest for those without access to YouTube.
