I suppose the question everyone will ask about this new set of pop rock worship tracks is, “Have the band come up with another ‘I Could Only Imagine’?” Because you’ll remember it was that captivating song with its unforgettable vision of Heaven which catapulted MercyMe from independent artist obscurity to award winning CCM superstar status. Well, my ears couldn’t discern another stone classic ala “Imagine”, but there are a set of beautifully crafted Bart Millard songs here while the production by Peter Kipley, full of deft touches and plenty of light and shade in the arrangements, brings out the haunting poignancy of many of Bart’s songs. I particularly liked the haunting “Spoken For”, with its memorable verse (“Take this world from me/I don’t need it anymore/I am finally free/My heart is spoken for”). Intelligent, well crafted pop rock worship.
