A diverse compilation of four worship songs apiece from the four worship leaders. |

Reviewed by Peter Dilley Better for the planet than a Chelsea tractor, and certainly much healthier for the soul, Kingsway's '4x4' series offers "four songs each from four great worship leaders." On 'V6' these are Gareth Robinson, Nick Herbert, Mark Beswick and Kristyn Getty. Great if you're looking for diversity, but the contrasts in style from track to track can be quite marked, from Gareth's high-octane tracks, to Nick's chilled out approach, the gospel stylings of Mark's work with the Power Praise Worship Band, and Krystyn's mellower worship songs and contemporary hymnody. It's certainly not a great fit for Cross Rhythms "single genre" review listings! Perhaps best of the 16 tracks here is "There Is A Higher Throne", penned in 2002 before Kristyn Lennox's songwriting partnership with Keith Getty became something rather closer. Also in the running is "We Worship You (This Side of Heaven)" - Nick Herbert's arrangement of the Lord's Prayer, and his thoughtful "The Day Will Come (Blameless)". A setting of Psalm 121 - "My Help (Where Do I Go)" is the standout track from Mark Beswick, and "Wonderful You Are (Superlatives)" definitely makes an exhilarating finale. Gareth Robinson's "O God The God Of Blessing" seems a crowd pleaser, but I was somewhat less taken with his drawling rendition of "Love Divine".
