Chris Lambe & Kerrie - Journey Into Genesis: An Ambient Journey Into The Heart Of Creation

If you think the Australian CCM scene is all about big worship a la Hillsong or Planetshakers, then here's a release to make you think again. It's definitely worship. Chris Lambe's inspiration comes from the "magnificent beauty of God's creation all around us." More specifically, the Lambes take us on a journey into Genesis - chapter 1 to be precise. Lyrics are few and the voices act more as another instrument - Kerrie Lambe being somewhat reminiscent of a gentle Stevie Nicks on "Let There Be Light". Chris takes main vocal duties on "The 6th Day" as well playing guitars and mandolin throughout. It's music for quiet reflection, well executed but rarely breaking sweat. The main band is augmented by flute, Irish whistle and violin. Overall, a very accomplished set.
