Each year, along with a plethora of others, the Newfrontiers family of churches release a live CD of worship from their conference. There are 12 tracks on this particular one, which are well chosen and are a good selection of old and new; taking traditional hymns like "When I Survey" and "Amazing Grace" and throwing them into the mix with contemporary favourites like "Mighty To Save" and "Everlasting God". The bands, fronted by Matt Redman, Simon Brading and Kate Simmons, all perform well, and the three aforementioned leaders are obviously all good at what they do, singing clearly and enticing people into worship. The barnstorming version of John Newton's classic hymn which closes the album is certainly a highlight, bouncing along with tangible energy and demanding that you join in. So there's really nothing about 'Amazing God' that disappoints, yet neither is there anything to separate it from the enormous crowd of similar and equally commendable releases.

Brilliant album. So vibrant, fresh. highlights: pouring out,
mighty to save, jesus christ!
brilliant album!! newfrontiers always produce the best live
albums - this one being a good resource for new songs and
the newday one being slightly more rocky. yet this album
still delivers with some pounding tracks like happy day,
pouring out and all that you are. the sound quality is very
impressive, not too much congregation and crisp instruments
such as the electric guitar, bass and keyboard really show
thru along with soaring vocals by lou fellingham,
atmospheric vocals by matt redman, crisp vocals by simon
brading and sensitive vocals by kate simmonds with a bit of
fun evan rogers to top it all off. a VALUABLE resource to
any christian, young and old.

What a great release. A fine example of how live albums
should be. Full of atmopsheric praise, high quality playing
and stunning production. The vocals of Lou Fellingham are
particularly impressive on Pouring Out, whilst Phatfish back
on 90% of the tracks with solid, professional playing that
puts other live albums to shame. Upbeat, soaring praise,
with a good library of new and old songs for the modern
church. Newfrontiers continue to lead by example in
producing the "yearly conference live worship album", as
they have done for nearly 14 years.
