It has been three years since Four Kornerz hit the scene with the infectious single "Clap Clap". Since then these London-based practioners of Afro-tinged gospel funk have performed across Europe alongside such top names as Joss Stone, Corinne Bailey Rae and Karen Clark Sheard. Now the Juba brothers offer their debut album. The CD starts of with the anarchic "It's A Scream" and the energy continues throughout. Four Kornerz do not only supply up-tempo tracks like the funky "Better Days" they have some hard hitting lyrics in response to life today. They simply ask "Tell me why we're living in a genocide?" Like a smooth boy band, they nail some thrilling harmonies in the chilled-out "Let It Go" while elsewhere the guys effortlessly fuse music styles together like the seamless transition of soul to the reggae outro in "Conquerors", featuring JA's Sherwin Gardner. Guests featured in this album also include trombonist Dennis Rollins, Brit rapper Jahaziel on the fine "Gonna Make It" and American rapper Verbs (formerly Knowdaverbs). Based on the high standard of this album, the future of Four Kornerz looks very bright.
