I must admit when I first received this Christmas album I approached it with a huge amount of skepticism. A Christian band releasing a Christmas album? YAWN! But in playing this album, this is not just any Christmas album, this is warfare! Warfare between the talented MercyMe and classic Christmas tunes. Tracks such as "God Rest Ye Merry Gentlemen" and "Drummer Boy" illustrate this. Starting with the classic tune, albeit rocky, it soon turns into the usual power ballad style we're used to from Bart Millard and Co. The mix of new and old songs in here will mean all the family will love this album. Overall if you're looking for a Christmas album with a twist, you've found it! The one thing I am unsure about is the album cover that looks like it was knocked up on Photoshop in 10 minutes! Good job we don't have to listen to that! Overall a fresh-sounding Christmas album, I'll be listening to this as I open my presents this year!
