The difficulty when approaching the back catalogue of Christian rock pioneers Petra is that it has been reissued and compiled so extensively that even a two CD set like this featuring 33 oldies is unlikely to bring forth anything fresh to hardcore Petra devotees. Most of their Christian radio hits are here, from 1979's "Why Should The Father Bother" to their surprising move into contemporary rock territory with "Jekyll & Hyde". Having said that, the perfunctory packaging for a release claiming to be "ultimate" is disappointing. Still, if you're new to Christian rock and want to hear songs from the various Petra line-ups there is much here which still has drive and passion.
