Originally released in the middle of last year, this solo album by the Iona guitarist/keyboard player Dave Bainbridge has both similarities and differences to the well known Celtic rock sound of Iona. Joined by his Iona buddies, plus a whole host of other musicians this album breathes out class. From the opening track, the hauntingly beautiful, "Chanting Waves" to the final 15 minute epic, "Star Filled Eyes", there is something here which will please even the most hardened music buff. From soft ballads through to complex progressive rock, 'Veil Of Gossamer' has it all. Great to see ICC putting it into the bookshops.
