Swansong collection of the Nashville hitmakers, some rarities and "Kiss Me" in Japanese!
Sixpence None The Richer have split and to say goodbye they have left us with a 'Best Of' that features all their most successful songs like "Kiss Me", "Don't Dream It's Over" and "There She Goes". There are a few new things that were rejected for previous albums and wash up here like "Loser Like Me" and "Us". Then there are a few oddities and rarities where they have contributed tracks to movie soundtracks or compilations so you get "The Ground You Shook" from the 'Roaring Lambs' album and "Breathe" from 'Streams'. Personally I love their version of Abba's "Dancing Queen" which featured on the 'Dick' movie soundtrack and there's something wonderfully weird about the Japanese version of "Kiss Me" that appeals! I'll miss them because they had a credible shot at the mainstream and were slagged off by narrow-minded churchy types who didn't understand. Can't remember how many people I corrected who were suggesting they'd backslidden. Why do we shoot our own side? Now it doesn't matter as the band move on. Get hold of this and celebrate a great band!
